OnePlus might launch a smaller OnePlus Two as soon as mid next year
A recent feedback session held on Reddit by OnePlus executives points to a daintier successor to the One
Upgrades equate bigger phones, right? Well, that might not be the case for the successor to the OnePlus One.
The OnePlus Two is definitely bigger than its predecessor in terms of interest generated. But in the literal sense, be prepared for a disappointment: there’s a rumour that it’ll come with a smaller display than its predecessor’s huge 5.5in screen size.
How much credibility can we give to this news nugget? Coming straight from its company executives during a recent AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Reddit, you won’t really need to take a pinch of salt for this. In their own words on Reddit, “We’ve seen a lot of people asking for a smaller device, and want to let everyone know that we hear you. We’re thinking about it.”

An invitation… to a smaller screen?
Perhaps that’s why the OnePlus One has been made more easily available to the public. Removing the need for an invitation to own a One could be for the sole purpose of clearing stock before the Two streams in.
If you’re wondering what its actual size is going to be, the execs were tight lipped on that matter with only the message “we hear you” for those that have been seeking a more compact phone. But there might also be the possibility for the OnePlus Two to come in two sizes just like the iPhone 6, offering options for both the phablet haters and plus-sized screen lovers.
You can also look forward to the return of the much maligned invite system: it seems that OnePlus isn’t going to eradicate it for the Two, at least not in the short-term.
