Report claims the alleged “iPad Pro” will be rolled out later than expected
Sources say the tablet will not see daylight until Q2 2015
If you’ve been holding off purchasing an iPad Air 2 or iPad mini 3 just because you’re hoping the rumours of an iPad Pro turn into reality, you might be waiting a while. New reports are indicating that the device will be delayed, which means you’re going to be in tablet limbo for longer.
According to AppleInsider, the purported larger tablet – some sources say it’ll be 12.9in, while others claim it’s going to be 12.2in – will only hit markets sometime during the second quarter of 2015. It was initially predicted to launch in Q1 2015.
Its source, KGI analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, attributed the device’s delay to a “time crunch on component production and assembly”. Apple’s apparently fitting oxide LCD technology to support the unit’s high-resolution display – something that’ll spell quicker response times and high color saturation.

Same screen tech as the Retina iMac?
The fact that Apple most recently used a large-format 27-inch oxide TFT panel on its iMac with Retina 5K display suggests that such a technology on any of its future devices is a possibility.
Kuo’s also got a proven track record when it comes to speculations about Apple devices – he correctly identified that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will come in 128GB variants and pretty much nailed all the major details of the iPhone 5s before its launch. As such, we think there’s some truth to the claim above.
The iPad Pro’s also predicted to land with stereo speakers and the same slimness as an iPhone 6, and with a stellar feature leak build-up, we can’t wait to know more about its other features in the coming months.
