Pentax Q compact system camera unveiled
The Japanese camera moguls cut compact interchangeable cams down to size
Fancy wrapping your mitts around the smallest, lightest interchangeable-lens compact around? Pentax would certainly like to hope so, as the new Pentax Q fits that description perfectly.
Boasting a new Q-mount lens system (for which five lenses have been announced), this pocketable snapper is a catwalk-thin 1.2in deep and clocks in at only 200g on the scales. All this is possible due to the fancy new miniaturized CMOS sensor, whose 12.4MP snaps are nicely complimented by full 1080p, 30fps video recording.
The five available lenses will be a 47mm f1.9, 27.5-83mm zoom, a fisheye, and a pair of “Toy Lens” optics (35mm and 100mm) designed to simulate the distorted qualities of Lomography cameras.
With an HDR function, 21 scene modes and a built-in auto flash, this clever little cam may come with a hefty asking price, which we will naturally impart upon you when it is eventually revealed.
