Nikon’s new D4S DSLR flagship camera shown off at CES
The first public teaser of Nikon’s next pro camera – but details are still thin on the ground
Nikon has decided to give the press and public its first glimpse of its upcoming flagship camera, the D4S, at CES 2014. But sadly it’s little more than that.
Nikon says the D4S will offer “significant advantages” over the current Nikon D4 via a new image processing engine and autofocus system, and that it will be built to work in extreme environments, but won’t get specific with pricing and release date info.
A new entry-level model too
One DSLR we know much more about is the new Nikon D3300, a more consumer-focussed entry-level model that will be available from 6th February for £500 (or £600 with a compact new 18-55mm VRII kit lens). The D3300 boasts a 24.2MP sensor, 5fps continuous shooting, full HD movie capture and a weight of just 410g (without lenses).
