Not-quite-flagship HTC One M8i specs leak
If this is all true, there's nary a stone left unturned - and it looks like one tempting smartphone
The HTC One (M9) has been making headlines, and now that we’re getting closer to MWC 2015, the leaks are coming at full speed. But not much has been revealed about the alleged HTC One M8i, the mid-range alternative to HTC’s popular One (M8).
That was the case, any way. Leak extraordinaire @upleaks has divulged more information about the rumoured mid-ranger smartphone – namely, all of its specs.
Design-wise, the unit will reportedly share the same physical characteristics of the One (M9), as well as dimensions and weight of the One (M8). This means that premium-feeling metal is probably involved, which makes sense given the metal body of the mid-range One Mini 2.
In addition, the 5in 1080p display, 2GB of DDR4 RAM, BoomSound speakers and microSD slot you’ll find on the One (M8) is said to remain unchanged on this device. What you might find different on the M8i however, is a Snapdragon 615 chip, with two sets of four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.7GHz and 1.0GHz.
You’ll also find a 13MP + 2MP camera configuration with dual LED flash on the back, along with a 5MP front snapper. That’s a key difference between the One Mini 2, which has a single camera without the second depth sensor.
There’s also the usual NFC and Bluetooth 4.1 functionality, and its battery is said to be less than 3000mAh, but no specific capacity is mentioned. The phone will also reportedly come out of the box running on Android 5.0 with Sense 7.0, and will come in gray, gold, and silver colour options.
HTC will apparently reveal the One M8i alongside the HTC One (M9) at MWC 2015. We’ll be right there on the front lines, so stay tuned for all the info as soon as we get it.
