Kodak goes full HD with the Zi8 pocket camcorder

Last week we saw a video suggesting Kodak would be releasing its ZX1 follow-up today, and right on queue the camera manufacturer has pulled the cover

An HD ultra portable camcorder, the Zi8 boosts its HD capabilities from the Zi6 to 1080p and gives the Flip UltraHD something to worry about with its matching 2.5-inch LCD screen, and pop out USB arm for hooking directly up to your computer.

Improved features include image stabilisation and face tracking, and for those who want to get a little more serious about sound, there’s a microphone jack as well.

The Zi8 records onto an SDHC card and can take up to 32GB for up to 10 hours of HD video fun, as well as the ability to take 5 megapixel stills as well.

The Zi8 will hit shelves in September in a choice of blue, red or black for £149.99. Check out what it has to live up to with our hands on vid with the Flip Mino HD.
