Apple denies iCloud breach in celebrity photo leak
Prominent actresses and other entertainers fell victim to a hacking effort that led to the weekend leak of numerous nude photos, and initially, it appeared that Apple’s iCloud had been compromised to obtain the private images. The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is looking into it, but Apple says it’s done its own investigation and claims that iCloud wasn’t uniquely breached.
“After more than 40 hours of investigation, we have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too common on the Internet,” reads the company’s statement. “None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in any of Apple’s systems including iCloud or Find my iPhone.”
That’s surely little solace to the victims in this case, but it’s no doubt a cautionary tale to use as many digital safeguards as possible with sensitive information, notably two-step verification. With Apple reportedly set to unveil a mobile payments platform alongside the iPhone 6 next week, it’s certainly not a great time for the company to be associated with such a high-profile security issue.

Radiohead’s PolyFauna app refreshed with new music
Back in February, Radiohead released PolyFauna, a suitably trippy and weird exploratory game/app for iOS and Android that featured music from the band’s last album, The King of Limbs. However, it’s now been updated – and totally rebooted with brand new music, which may hint at what Radiohead has in store for its next album, which is set to begin production this month.
PolyFauna also features new visuals and Rolling Stone says it runs better than previous versions. Luckily, the app remains free, so if you’re a fan, now’s the time to download and dig in.

Beyond: Two Souls may be coming to PlayStation 4
Last year’s Beyond: Two Souls was one of the most anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusives, and while reviews were rather mixed, the emotional adventure was praised for its fantastic performances provided by actors like Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe.
And now it may be coming to PlayStation 4. According to Exophase, a set of Trophies for a PlayStation 4 version has appeared on the PlayStation Network, hinting at an impending port. Considering how many other games from the last year or so have made (or are making) the new-gen leap, it’s hardly surprising. With luck, it’ll smooth out some of the original game’s rough edges.
