Flex4K camera to capture 4K at 1,000fps
Get ready to see explosions, car crashes and other eye-popping action sequences in insanely clear slow motion
The Phantom Flex4K could be making movie and TV action sequences even more awe-inspiring. This newly-announced video camera can capture 4K footage (at a resolution of 4096 x 2160, to be precise) at 1,000 frames per second, allowing for insanely sharp footage to be played back in insanely slow motion.
The trailer below shows off the kind of thing you can expect from the Flex4K, albeit in mere HD quality. 4K will add a whole new layer of eye-popping clarity to the footage.
The camera isn’t limited to 1,000fps, and can be dialled down to a “normal” film speed of 23.96fps, or anything in between. And if you need even faster image capture, adjusting the quality to 2K resolution will allow it to capture video at 2,000fps.
The price for all this ability? A cool US$110,000 (or thereabouts).
