Sky Q to add Netflix to Box Sets for £10 a month
Sky will bundle Box Sets and Netflix together for £10 a month from November, and integrate it into the Sky Q interface.
Sky Q is by far and away our favourite TV service, but traditionally it’s kept you within its own walled garden. Sure, Spotify and YouTube apps have been made available through various updates, but when it’s come to telly, no streaming services have made it to Sky Q. That’s all change from November, as Netflix will be coming to Sky Q as well. If you’re an existing Netflix subscriber, you can log into the Sky Q app just like you would on any other streaming device. But Sky is hoping to push you towards its new “Ultimate On Demand” package, which will bundle up its current £5/month Box Set offer as well as Netflix’s £7.99 tier for £10 a month, with Sky taking care of migrating your Netflix account over. This option will then fully integrate Netflix into Sky Q’s interface, allowing it to offer up recommendations based on what you’ve watched, as well see all of Netflix’s content in the “On Demand” tab without having to load up the app. You can head to Sky.com/Netflix to pre-register, and the new “Ultimate On Demand” package will be available in November.
