BlazePod is a personal trainer you won’t hate

Well, only a little

The trouble with personal trainers is they always look so damn fit; exercising for an hour is bad enough without a bronzed Adonis staring at you the whole time. Enter BlazePod. A ‘flash reflex fitness’ device which is currently funding on Kickstarter, it’ll help you get fit without destroying your self-esteem. You pledge for a bundle of them, which communicate wirelessly with an app, which has loads of different exercises requiring you to leap and slam the BlazePods as they light up. Some of the activities are quite gamified and the app can measure your reflexes to a milisecond accuracy. A pack of two costs US$99, with delivery expected in October.

Marc was until fairly recently Editor of Stuff.tv, but now edits a site about cars instead. He has been a committed geek since getting a Tomytronic 3D aged seven, and a journalist since the week that Google was founded (really). He spends much of his free time taking photos of really small things (bugs, flowers, his daughters) or really big things (galaxies and the like through a telescope) and losing games of FIFA and Pro Evo online. You can email Marc at marc.mclaren@haymarket.com
