Friday the 13th: The Game (PS4)

Well, this is a pretty perfect pick for October. Friday the 13th: The Game turns the movie franchise into an asymmetrical multiplayer game, pitting one player’s murderous Jason against up to seven camp counselors. Sounds like a bloody good time, this one.

Laser League (PS4)

Described as Rocket League meets Tron, this futuristic top-down multiplayer game pits teams of two or three against each other as you control points on the neon-infused grid and try to eliminate foes. It’s only been out for a few months now, but it earned some glowing reviews at launch.

2064: Read Only Memories (PS4/Vita)

This pixel-packed adventure spotlights a compelling cyberpunk future world in which a robot becomes sentient… and its creator is missing. You’ll explore, examine, and chat your way towards the truth while interacting with a wide array of interesting characters.

Knowledge is Power (PS4)

One of the PlayLink games for PS4, Knowledge is Power lets you use your smartphone or tablet to answer trivia questions. The device-centric approach means a bunch of your mates can join in without you having to wrangle (or buy) a bunch of DualShock controllers.

Rocketbirds 2: Evolution (PS4/Vita)

Are you interested in a side-scrolling action game starring a gun-toting chicken? If so, then here you go. We’re guessing that you’ll probably be fine without playing the original, and reviews suggest that Rocketbirds 2 is a solid, albeit unspectacular diversion.

The Bridge (PS4/PS3/Vita)

This black-and-white 2D puzzler takes on an M.C. Escher-inspired edge, as you rotate levels and manipulate gravity to solve the environmental challenges within.

Master Reboot (PS3)

This surreal first-person, horror-tinged adventure game takes place in the Soul Cloud, where people can upload their memories and live on forever digitally. Obviously, things go terribly wrong somewhere along the way…
