Sony Firefox OS smartphone due in 2014
The Japanese tech giant could be serving up a mobile slice of Mozilla's Firefox OS next year
Firefox OS is heading to Sony mobiles, with Sony Deputy Chief Executive Officer Bob Ishida revealing that its mobile engineers are planning to bring a mystery product featuring Mozilla’s Firefox OS to us all in 2014.
Sony has also sealed a deal with Spanish provider Telefonica to investigate emerging technologies like Mozilla’s new OS so that Sony can reach a wider consumer bace.
Cookie-cutter business talk aside, it’s good to see that there’ll be more flavours of smartphones to choose from, especially with Ubuntu OS on the horizon as well.
