A FINE SELECTION
You might not love the idea of paying for a PlayStation Plus subscription, but that £50 a year includes a massive bounty of free games. Each and every month, Sony trots out a new selection of games you can download for free all month and then keep and play forever, so long as you maintain your Plus subscription. You’ll always find at least a couple of PlayStation 4 picks, along with games for PS3 and Vita as well. Looking for a heads-up on which games you can grab right now and soon ahead? We’ve got you covered: these are the UK’s PlayStation Plus freebies for April 2018, which will be available to download starting 3 April.

MAD MAX (PS4)
While not the most memorable open-world game from the last few years, it’s still a blast to whip around the wasteland in the Magnum Opus and deliver death upon grunts aplenty. Mad Max’s hand-to-hand stuff is dull, but you’ll have enough fun in the car to warrant the download.

TRACKMANIA TURBO (PS4)
Big fan of zany racing? Ubisoft’s Trackmania Turbo should suffice: it has looping, rollercoaster-like tracks, and more than 200 of them to boot. You can also build you own tracks, plus it’s compatible with the PlayStation VR if you really want to test your stomach.

IN SPACE WE BRAWL (PS4/PS3)
Haven’t heard of In Space We Brawl? Yeah, we hadn’t either. It’s a dual-stick, arcade-style shooter, albeit one built for local multiplayer battling. It looks a bit sluggish, and reviews were pretty so-so – but anyone still playing a PS3 today might find it a fair diversion.
![TOY HOME (PS3)](https://kelsey-hobbies-preprod.go-vip.net/stuff-tv/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/10/ps_plus_4.jpg)
TOY HOME (PS3)
Speaking of middling PS3 diversions, Toy Home looks like a low-rent Mario Kart-like racer in the Toy Story bedroom. It’s a decade old at this point, but you might toss this one on for the kids.

99VIDAS (PS4/PS3/PSVITA)
Here’s a cross-play game that’ll work on all current PlayStation systems – and one you might actually bother to play. 99Vidas pays homage to old-school brawlers with zany arcade beat-’em-up action and great pixel graphics. Bonus: it has a character named Fries.

Q*BERT REBOOTED (PS4/PS3/PSVITA)
Q*Bert is back, baby! This overhauled edition of the old arcade classic drops the weird titular creature into various isometric stages, challenging you to turn every block the same colour while evading enemies. Could be a nice stroll down memory lane.
