Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will launch on 12 August packing 4GB of RAM
It’ll make its debut alongside an S6 Edge+ too
If you’ve been patiently waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, you’re in luck – it will apparently be launching earlier than expected.
Normally Samsung reveals its new Note range during IFA early in September, but Sam Mobile’s source believes that the South Korean tech giant will hold its launch event on 12 August instead.
It’s widely believed that Samsung has brought the date forward in order to stand out from the iPhone 7 (or 6s) launch, which is expected to take place shortly after IFA.
The source goes on to say that Samsung will also launch the Galaxy S6 Edge+, which is described as a larger S6 Edge, complete with its sexy curved screen.
Previous Note 5 leaks have pointed to a 6in 4K screen, along with a glass and metal build, and no microSD slot.
While the latter will be disappointing to media hoarders, Sam Mobile’s source believes that the Note 5 will be the first Samsung handset to land with a whopping 4GB of RAM.
The RAM will reportedly be part of Samsung’s first single-chip solution – the Exynos 7422 – which also crams in the processor, GPU and modem, and it should be the company’s most powerful (and efficient) processor to date. The S6 Edge+, according to the source, will rock an Exynos 7420 chip, along with 3GB of RAM.
Both handsets will reportedly hit shelves on 21 August too, so there shouldn’t be too long to wait before we wrap our hands around them in the flesh.
