Free Wi-Fi Hotspots from The Cloud for Sky Broadband customers
Sky is giving out free internet access at 10,000 hotspots, if you already pay for its broadband connection
Sky will soon provide 10,000 Wi-Fi hotspots in the UK – imaginatively named “Wi-Fi Hotspots from The Cloud” – which will be free to use for certain Sky Broadband subscribers.
But the treats don’t stop there. Sky has created an iOS and Android app that uses mapping to show you exactly where your nearest hotspots are located. Access is also available through a web browser.
Only Sky customers on the Broadband Unlimited, Sky Connect and the soon to be launched Fibre Unlimited tariffs will get free access to Wi-Fi Hotspots from The Cloud. But once those folks have signed in, they never need to again and are automatically connected when wandering into a hotspot. Non-subscribers can also use the hotspots but must sign in each time and are charged at a rate chosen by the venue – though some will be available for free.
Sky’s Hotspots from The Cloud will be fully launched later this month and be available in restaurants, stations, and shops including Pizza Express, Eat, Pret A Manger, JD Wetherspoons and Caffè Nero.
