Meet the rugged Sphero 2B
The upgraded smartphone-controlled toy was let out to play at CES Unveiled [updated with video]
The prototype that was shown off at CES Unveiled proved itself to be quite a different animal. You might even call it a beast.
Compared to the Sphero 2.0, the Sphero 2B has taken on a new tubular form, more lighting effects and comes with its own wardrobe of accessories like tires and hubcaps to zip across every type of surface known to man. Thought the original out-maneuvered every toy vehicle in the market? You ain’t seen nothing yet. The rugged Sphero 2B is even more responsive, and drives like a dream while built like a polycarbonate tank to survive both critter and child play.
With apps available on both the App Store and Google Play, the Sphero 2B allows for even more interactivity thanks to its built-in infrared technology, so you can justify your purchase of multiple toys.
Quit waving your money in the air for now; the Sphero 2B will only be available in the later half of 2014 for a lowered price point of US$100 (RM329).
