Red Dead Redemption 2 and more BioShock games on the way, says Take-Two boss
Wondering if that sweet free-roaming cowboy action would ever return to your console? Well, wonder no more, partner
Take-Two is planning to develop and release new BioShock and Red Dead Redemption games in the near future, according to CEO Strauss Zelnick.
Zelnick told attendees at an analyst conference that Red Dead Redemption 2 was almost an inevitability, and that the brand was one of Take-Two’s “permanent franchises” alongside others like Grand Theft Auto, Borderlands and NBA.

More BioShock too
Released in 2010, Red Dead Redemption (which was developed by Rockstar Games and published by Take-Two) sold over 13 million copies, so you can see why Zelnick, whose responsibility it is to ensure Take-Two makes lots of money, would want to return to the franchise. As to when the game might be launched, there have been suggestions that it could be as early as this year – but we’d be very surprised if that were true. The autumn of 2015 seems like a much more likely prospect.
Zelnick also confirmed that more BioShock titles are on the way, and that 2K Marin would be responsible for developing them. Irrational Games, which created the franchise and developed BioShock Infinite and the first BioShock game, was closed down last year. 2K Marin already has experience with the franchise, having developed BioShock 2.
