Second gen Moto 360 set to hit shelves in two sizes

New smartwatch allegedly all things large and small

All good things come in small packages and it seems the Moto 360 is no exception: the almost-round smartwatch’s second iteration is set to come in two sizes, according to leaked images.

With IFA less than a week away, rumours were already rife about the unveiling of the second generation of Motorola’s answer to the Apple Watch, and now sneaky snaps have emerged showing two versions of the new wrist-wrapper: one smaller, one larger.

We already knew that the update to the 360 would include some lugs on its bezel and leather strap options, but the photos also confirm something we weren’t hoping for: Motorola’s watch still still has a flat tyre.

Whether the not-quite-round screen is a consequence of hardware restraints or design decisions, it’s still just that little bit frustrating, particularly if the Chicago tech company wants to market its latest ticker as a premium piece of pretty.

Still, it’s interesting enough that the manufacturer has opted for a split-range strategy with the so-called 360S and 360L, which we first heard about last week.

Sure, it means the 360 can cater for more tastes and wrist-sizes, but, if there’s no real hardware difference between the larger and the smaller smartwatch siblings, it’s difficult to fathom the extra expense of manufacturing and marketing marginally-scaled Motos.

All the same, we’re looking forward to getting our mitts on both devices at IFA, and we’ll be sure to deliver all of the updated specs right here.
