If you love space, shooting monsters, and superpowers, you’ll love Prey
Think Dead Space with more guns and mind powers
Bethesda has revealed its world-first trailer for Prey – a new title spearheaded by the team that brought us all the excellent Dishonored series.
The two minute trailer, though short, is packed with plenty to get gamers drooling already.
From the get-go, things are already interesting. Your character, it appears, isn’t a fan of your typical shirt and tie look. Instead, it looks like you’ll be doing a space suit each and every morning for work (which is unlikely to be an office, by the look of things).
From what we’ve gathered and been told so far, players will be stepping into the boots of Morgan, Yu – a subject of a “morally dubious experiment designed to improve the human race”. What could possibly go wrong (apart from that ominous-looking blood-red eye)?
Well, the fact that a mysterious alien force decides to invade your ship probably isn’t going to end too well for you. From the look of the trailer though, you have a few things on your side.
It’s 2032 for starters, and you’re in space, so advanced pew pew blasters and other weapons are surely on the cards – from the few glimpses of weapons we’ve seen in the trailer, there should be plenty of firepower to help you stay alive.
Oh, and don’t forget your superhuman powers, though their exact nature is hard to glean from the nanosecond glimpses of some black stuff on your hands which we see in the trailer.
A short, but very intriguing tease from Bethesda, which leaves us wanting more, Prey will be out on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2017.
