32GB Google Nexus 7 could be £150 cheaper than the iPad Mini
Not only could the search giant's flagship Nexus tablet be a good few bills cheaper than Apple's Mini offering, it might be out sooner too
Google could rain on Apple’s iPad Mini parade by releasing a 32GB Nexus 7 for £150 less than Apple’s new tablet. And the beefy new 7in Android slate could be out a full two days before its iOS rival.
A Tech Radar tipster spotted Google’s rumoured 32GB edition at online shop Very with a release pegged for October 31st, a date that tallies with Google’s October 29th event, where a 10in Google Nexus 10 tablet is also on the cards. We expect the 8GB Nexus 7 to be replaced by its 16GB sibling, and the 16GB edition to adopt the 8GB model’s £160 price tag, leaving the 32GB Nexus 7 free to nab the current 16GB model’s very respectable £200 price label.
That would make the 32GB Google Nexus 7 tablet £150 cheaper than the 32GB iPad Mini – a difference that will have Christmas shoppers more than a little tempted to join the Google camp. Meanwhile, join us in praying for an all-out tablet price war.
