Panasonic outs Lumix TZ30, TZ25 and two rugged cams
Panny introduces the world's skinniest 20x zoom compact – and its tough friends
Panasonic has sprung a bunch of Lumix cameras on us this morning, following the mess of product launches, demos and Justin Timberlake appearances that was CES.
The four new compacts are geared towards the higher end of the the Panny line-up. The TZ30 heads up the range with a 20x optical zoom Leica lens, 14.1MP MOS sensor, 1080p at 60fps video skills – and all that at just 1.1in thick. The UK price has yet to be confirmed, though.
Next up is the TZ25 which is also gunning for performance in a tiny body – but with slightly lower specs. We’re talking a 12.1MP sensor, 16x zoom Leica lens and 1080p video recording at an unconfirmed – but no doubt lower – price point.
Panasonic’s two new rugged cams – the FT4 and FT20 – go head to head on all-weather skills and photo-related specs. The FT4 should be waterproof down to 12m, shockproof to 2m, dustproof and freezeproof to -10 degrees. It also packs a 12.1MP CCD sensor, 1080p video capabilities and wide-angle Leica lens into its tough frame.
The FT20, meanwhile, features a 16.1MP sensor, a wide angle 4x optical zoom lens, 720p video recording and will survive to 5m of water, -10 degrees and being dropped from up to 1.5m. No prices yet but we’re hoping to get our hands on these new Panny compacts soon enough.
