BBC reveals Connected Red Button
The venerable Red Button service is getting some internet-connected smarts
The BBC’s Red Button has been serving up extra features to TV viewers for over a decade – now it’s getting some new tricks up its sleeve with the launch of a new Connected Red Button project.
The aim is to add connected TV features to broadcast television – so you’ll be able to dial up the previous episode of a programme you’re watching on iPlayer, or send the ingredients list for a recipe on a cookery show to your iPad.
The Connected Red Button’s first outing will be during the Olympics, when viewers will be able to use it to access 24 live HD channels showing the events.
